The Portugalete Map of Care Initiatives was presented at Santa Clara Cultural Centre, Portugalete on 9th March.  This map set up by Portugalete Council and the Basque Provincial Council Employment, Social Inclusion & Equality Department has been designed to make visible, create awareness and give value to all those initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of people living in Portugalete.

The Map sets out all the resources ranging from public services to citizen initiatives, consisting of 61 private and public initiatives; and is designed to work on the well-being of its inhabitants. GaituzSport has been part of this project since its outset and we are present on the Map of Well-being with our Inclusive programme “Portu inclusion – Access to Physical Activity for people with diverse functionality.”

At the presentation, first Deputy Mayoress and Social Services Councillor for Portugalete Council, María José Blanco Gaviero, highlighted the value of the Town’s associative fabric wealth, emphasising that “most of the initiatives were focused on health and social well-being, as well as improving situations of vulnerability and social inclusion.”
