  • This 18th edition will be an event marked by the organisation’s commitment to inclusion and sustainability since part of the money collected will be for Fundación GaituzSport Fundazioa
  • Kosta Trail is the first mountain race at sea level running across earth, sand and asphalt along the beautiful Uribe Kosta coastline, in its 3 modalities: 21 (Mountain Half Marathon), 20 (Mountain Hike) and 7 (Family Hike) kilometres.
  • Registration opens on 18th March, which are only possible via the web kostatrail.com

The Kosta Trail tide of solidarity returns on 16th June; the event combining sport, solidarity, inclusion and sustainability along the magnificent Uribe Kosta cliffs in Bizkaia for the benefit of GaituzSport.

Over 4,000 participants every edition confirms it as one of the dates; runners and hikers most look forward to regardless of conditions, ages and demands.

The uniqueness of the event, is that it’s the first mountain race at sea level running across earth, sand and asphalt in its standard 3 modalities: Mountain Half Marathon (21 km), Mountain Hike (20 km) and Family Hike (7km).

Registration period starts 18th March, and the Half Marathon participants have until 1st May or until 350 registrations have been reached, since they completed them in under 10 hours in the last edition. Should the scheduled numbers be completed, anyone interested can complete the registration form without paying the fee and go onto a waiting list whose registration order will be respected. Runners from the waiting list will receive an Email notification to access the event. Hikers on the other hand can register until 15th June provided the places are not filled earlier.

Registrations are online only via the web www.kostatrail.com to take part in any of the 3 distances. Registration fee for the Half Marathon is €18 registered with the mountain federation, and €23 for those who aren’t; and €6 for the hikes.

Solidarity and sustainability in equal parts

Kosta Trail not only means sport but also solidarity, hence thanks to the sponsorship from Forum Sport, Salomon and Laboral Kutxa together with the collaboration of all the participants, the organisation will donate part of the money collected through the registrations to Fundación GaituzSport Fundazioa for yet another year. This amount will be assigned to inclusive health programmes via physical activity directed at and practised by the disABLED and/or those with health impairments, in equal conditions, thus improving their health, quality of life and favouring their social inclusion.

Not only is solidarity in the Kosta Trail DNA but also its environment commitment. The organisation’s commitment involves generating less impact on those natural landscapes which the event runs through, likewise reducing the use of plastics.

These are just some of the measures adopted so Kosta Trail can be a more committed to the environment event, the rest; however, can be found with all the event information on www.kostatrail.com, as well as their Facebook www.facebook.com/kostatrail ,Twitter and Instagram @kostatrail  profiles where participants can exchange advice, recommendations and sensations about the event.

At GaituzSport we would like to express our gratitude to Forum Sport, Salomon and Laboral Kutxa, for their awareness and support for inclusive sport.
